Description

St John's College Oxford is thought to be one of the richest colleges in the university. It was founded in 1555 by St Thomas White, a Catholic bishop in the reign of Queen Mary. It was once said that you could walk from St John's College in Oxford to St John's College in Cambridge without leaving St John's Land. The college is surrounded by five acres of glorious gardens. Past members include Archbishop William Laud, Robert Graves, A.E. Houseman, Kingsley Amis and Tony Blair.
