William Harvey Hospital

William Harvey Hospital at Ashford is one of the three main hospitals in the East Kent Hospitals Trust area. Commissioned in 1977 this hospital employs about 2,500 people. The site has been developed over the years to provide a diabetic outpatient centre in 1992, a mental health unit managed by East Kent NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust and rehabilitation centre in 1993, and a cancer care centre in 1996. 1998 saw the opening of the day surgery unit and a 24-bed orthopaedic ward.
